Empowering the individual builds the village.
To achieve a village that can take care of itself, every neighbor within it must be financially self-supporting. Today’s economy is broken by a widening gap between what people earn and what it costs to live. We advocate for two mutually dependent requirements:
Creating a variety of jobs with diverse pay levels within the village ecosystem.
Offering housing and services that allow for a variety of different expense levels.
When people are not crushed by the cost of basic survival, they are free to participate in social and civic life. Our model enables free-market capitalism to flourish at a local level, ensuring that the financial capital and "social capital" of the neighborhood stays within the neighborhood.
